December in Moray

Charlie the peacock in December in Moray

If you are looking for things to do in Moray in December you will find we have a wonderful selection of Christmas Markets and Festivities combined with superb scenery and lovely dry weather.  I am especially looking forward to the 2-day Christmas Market at Logie Steading next to the River Findhorn well worth the visit. Whisky lovers will especially enjoy the Christmas treats available from many of the distilleries.

Traditionally Christmas in Scotland was celebrated very quietly, in fact, Christmas Day only became a Public Holiday in 1958 and Boxing Day was only made a Public Holiday in 1974. Here at Blervie, we will be quiet at Christmas but like the rest of Scotland, we will be ready to celebrate Hogmanay and bring the New Year in with style.

So, in this period of Advent you are probably counting down to Christmas and wondering if you have everything in place some of the residents here at Blervie are still writing their Christmas letters to Santa Claus:

  • Rosie(dog) has asked for more new toys similar to last year
  • Charlie Peacock has asked for brand new tail feathers so he can sweep Charlene off her feet in the Springtime hopefully resulting in the patter of little peachick feet.
  • Rosie(horse), Tommy and Winston are just happy to receive extra festive food parcels.
