So if you are staying at Blervie House you may well be a Malt Whisky fan or a Dolphin fan – well you are in luck we have over 50 distilleries on on doorstep and plenty of dolphins.
So plan you day – which one are you going to see? My advice is if you have a favourite whisky that distillery should be your first stop. If you are here to enjoy Scotland then your choice might be different. Don’t forget to plan your day to visit some of the attractions close to distilleries that are easily missed.
Distilleries to see
Newest – The Macallan opened in 2018. Experience the picturesque drive to the world famous Macallan. Here you are immersed in the whole whisky process.
Closest – Benromach is the closest distillery. With many award winning whiskies and an excellent tour so are well worth a visit.
Historical – Dallas Dhu was once a working distillery. Now a historical museum showing whisky production as it used to be. It is a very worthwhile step back in time.
Gin – if whisky is not your thing we can recommend some very good local gin distilleries!
Did you know the Moray Coast is one of the best dolphin spotting areas in the UK? If you are lucky you might also orcas and even humpback whales too. You have an excellent choice of places to see them.
My favourite – North 58 Adventures takes a Rib out of Findhorn and gives you an exhilarating ride round the Moray Firth.
Staying on the Ground – then visit the Scottish Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay and do visit the Ice Centre when you are there.
Visiting Inverness – then book a trip on Dolphin Spirit – if ribs are not for you but you would like to see Dolphins then Dolphin Spirit have a choice of vessels. You can also combine this a visit to Inverness city centre.
