Touring around Scottish roads is a true Scottish experience so If you have decided to visit Scotland you probably have your own reasons for making your trip whether it be a family connection or a long-term goal. Whatever the reason Scottish scenery is bound to be on that list. For a small country Scotland packs, a lot of varied and spectacular scenery into a small space. One of the easiest ways to see it is by touring by road using some of our World-Renowned Routes. Blervie is perfectly situated to make use of at least 3 of these routes:

Touring the Snow Roads

Touring Kessock Bridge — Touring in Scotland

The Snow Roads Scenic Route is a 90-mile journey on an iconic road bringing you up through the Cairngorms National Park, over mountain and moorland, through stunning Highland Villages and past many superb castles. In fact, Glen Shee is the home of my own family.

Balmoral Castle is the Queen’s Summer Residence and has been used by the Royal Family since Queen Victoria’s time and as you spend time exploring this area you can understand why. If you are driving to or from Edinburgh plan your trip using this route, plan to have a stop in Ballater Village, maybe have a look at Loch Muick then continue your way past Corgarff Castle and over to Tomintoul – the highest village in the UK and the first one to close the roads whenever there is snow finishing in Grantown-on-Spey just 30 minutes away from us.

Touring the NC500

North Coast 500 – Scotland’s original road trip is 500 miles of scenic beauty around the most northerly part of Scotland. Starting and finishing in Inverness, just 40 minutes away this makes Blervie a restful interlude either at the end or the beginning of your road trip. From the house you get extensive views over the NC500 route and with plenty of parking you have the chance for a little down time.

Touring the NE250

North East 250– Scotland is many things including whisky, castles, history and scenery and the NE250 delivers that by routing you around the North East coast of Scotland and bringing you back into the heart of Cairngorms. If you have the car and the time this is another route close to us to explore.

Moray Coast 100 – a lesser known route stretching from Inverness to Fraserburgh a total of 100 miles of stunning scenery, beaches, great places to visit, fishing villages to visit and look out for Dolphins as you drive. Just driving a short part of this coastline when you are staying with us makes for a superb day out.
