May in Moray

Whisky bottles by the River Spey

With two Bank Holiday weekends in May this is the time of year when things start happening in earnest, there are more visitor attractions open and more visitors to the area.  There are many reasons to visit Moray and I always look forward to learning reasons why guests are visiting the area.

May in Moray

For May this will almost inevitably be the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. This phenomenal event spans 6 days, encompasses the whole of Moray and attracts visitors from over 54 countries to attend some 500+ events during the Festival.  Whisky connoisseurs will find distilleries old and new open, specialist tastings, unique distillery visits, exciting evening events with whisky pairing, train rides, breakfast events and scenic smugglers routes with their favourite dram.  It is an exciting Festival to be part of and on many Whisky Experts bucket list.

May and Whisky Galore

On a more mundane but nonetheless important subject I am delighted we are having new super fast broadband installed.  I love our location in the Highlands surrounded by sea, mountains and Forests but the frustration of not being in the environment where fast Broadband is standard can be frustrating.  However, where there is a will there is a way and we now have the technology to deliver by laser super-fast Internet speed. That said the weather is so good and the evenings so long who wants to be inside on a computer – there is too much to do out and about.
